Marvel Super Hero Squad Coming to Xbox 360, PS3, Wii
May 08, 2008

THQ and Marvel have announced entering into an exclusive licensing agreement to create videogames based on the Marvel Super Hero Squad universe, with the first game expected for delivery in fall 2009.

The Marvel Super Hero Squad is a line of "squat" kid-friendly action figures produced by Hasbro that stand 2" tall and spans the entire Marvel universe. Other existing toy lines in the same vein that may see a videogame treatment in the future include Star Wars, Transformers and Indiana Jones.

Characters that may and likely will appear in the game include Iron-Man, Hulk, Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine and the X-Men, Thor, The Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom, Magneto, Iron Monger, Loki, Magneto, and the Abomination.

Marvel and THQ will both be pushing the Marvel Super Hero Squad property hard in fall 2009 with not only the game and action figures, but a new comic book and cartoon television series.

The official announcement states the game will appear on"all current and next-generation consoles, handheld systems, as well as Windows PC," meaning it's a fairly safe bet Marvel Super Hero Squad will be available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.
