EA's 'Skate It' on Wii Screens; Skate 2 Coming to PS3, Xbox 360
May 12, 2008

Electronic Arts has announced the sequel to last year's wildly popular Skate will be coming exclusively in Nintendo Wii and DS later this year.

Skate It has been stripped of its cutting edge visuals and designed, like many games these days, to appeal to casual players with pick up and play controls.

On the Wii, players will be able to utilize the upcoming Balance Board in conjunction with the Wii Remote, which becomes the skateboard and mirrors actual skate flips and moves.

With the Skate It announcement, EA has confirmed Skate 2 is currently in development for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. In all likelihood it won't be seen in stores until 2009.

Check out the first three underwhelming screenshots for Skate It on Nintendo Wii below.

game details

Skate It
The Wii remote becomes a skateboard and reacts to gestures that mirror actual skate flips and moves. Players can also deepen this experience by planting their feet on the Wii Balance Board. Skate It brings the hit Skate franchise to a new level of creative ingenuity and gameplay excellence.
